Car Makers, stop making "sporty" and "aggressive" vehicle

After my presentation yesterday afternoon and received some critics from my tutor about whether I should make my Camper van that "Sporty", i go back to my working space and look for some sources and history to see why this two words existed in almost every car nowadays.

In order to show how this trend changed, I'll use the vw golf, toyota corolla and ford mustang as the representative vehicle.

Back in late 80's-90's, the majority of design of a vehicle looked quite boxy on those days as if all of the car are made of rulers and LEGOs.
As i mentioned before, these cars belongs to the time of "edgy"(my own term used to describe these boxy cars).

Then to the mid 90s to mid 00s, car are dramatically became round and smooth, every edges was almost like completely removed. However, it seems to be a bit bulky and lack of dynamic.

In the 2014, it seems to be that all of the car makers are emphrasizing the word "dynamic" as if most of the car have the aggressive front face, strong side sculpting and overall a very sporty looking.  However, being "dynamic" and "sporty" isn't a problem, but if all of the cars heading the same way, the meaning of creating a truely good looking car will be lost as all they need is just a sports car in different categories of vehicle.

So, to auto makers, BE CREATIVE and bring me back interesting car PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Toyota revenge? FT-1 concept and RC F

                                                       Lexus RC F
The brand new Lexus RC F is a astonishing design when it came out, brand new design language from current generation of Lexus and also a bit of DNA from his brother, LF-LC. From my perspective, this is really a good looking car, nice colour and wheels. But still, something I really looking forward to see Japanese automaker is to put some effort to the side profile, e.g. a more special signature bone line to further attract the sight of our eye. All in all, this is a very good design, simple and good looking,  looking forward to see it battle against M4 and also I predict Mercedes will probably join this epic battle :)

Face of the RC F, different people have different thoughts of it, some say it's like a vacuum cleaner but to be honest, I like this aggressive design,  originally from the LF-Gh concept back in 2011,  spindle-shaped grill featuring with the split head light design was quite radical compare to other family in Lexus back then. Also, the side grill is somehow similar to the inverted side grill of LFA.

Toyota FT-1 concept

Again, love this things and Toyota please make this beauty to production. Design language? still have no idea where it's come from or any DNA from it's forefather, but i suspect it may have some source from the front of Toyota NS4 advanced plug-in concept. And also my favourite part of the car is the little surface between the tail lights, it has an effect of blending light and create a better reflection, that one piece surface really makes me wanna go and touch it :)

Here are some video of the FT-1 and RC F, enjoy!
